Athlete of the Week Interview: Kate Sramac

BRSN: What was your mindset going into this weekend’s meet at Harvard? KS: Going into this weekend we really wanted to put together our best team basketball for an entire game, and improve on specific things we worked on at practice.

BRSN: How did you first get started with basketball, and what kept you in the sport? KS: I grew up with two brothers and we all played many different sports when we were little. I continued to play basketball because it was a lot of fun, and because I always looked forward to playing for my high school coach because of her reputation. Once I started playing in high school, I knew right away I wanted to continue to play in college.

BRSN: Why did you choose Cornell? KS: I chose Cornell because I wanted to play division one basketball in college while getting a good education. I loved the natural beauty of the campus and could not pass up the opportunity to attend an Ivy League school.

BRSN: What is your greatest basketball memory? KS: My greatest basketball memory is when we made the Ivy League tournament last year, after being projected to finish 8th in the preseason poll.

BRSN: How do you like to prepare for games? KS: To prepare for games, I like to take pregame naps and listen to Mac Miller in the locker room.

BRSN: What are your expectations for the rest of the season? KS: For the rest of the season, I expect to play hard and finish the season on a high note.
