Baseball heads to Wofford for three-game set

After getting through the first series of the 2016 season and of the Dan Pepicelli Era, the Big Red (1-2) are ready for week two. They’ll be taking on Wofford College of Spartansburg, South Carolina, and the series will take place on Saturday, March 12th at 1 PM and 3:30 PM, and March 13th at 12 PM.

The rotation for the Red will be the same as last week: Paul Balestrieri, Michael Byrne, and Tim Willittes will get the ball for each of the three starts, and you can likely look for Peter Lannoo and Justin Lewis out of the bullpen. Notables for the Red also include Cole Rutherford who is looking to build off his excellent 3-8 performance last weekend; Dale Wickham (.346) and Tommy Wagner (.333) also had nice offensive performances they’ll be looking to extend as well.

The Wofford Terriers are 10-4 on the season, and they just came off a 7-1 loss to #17 South Carolina. They’ve won six straight games at home, and they’re coming off a year in which they set a record with 39 wins last year; they held on to their ace Matt Milburn, who was the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year last season.

You can find the schedule of the games, with audio/video links and live stats here.
