Field hockey defeats Columbia, loses to Syracuse: They go to 1-1 in Ivy play, with a great showing against Columbia by winning 5-2. Losing to Syracuse is nothing to be ashamed of, as they’re ranked second in the nation.
Women’s tennis has success at Akron Invitational: There were nine matches–no tournament format here–and Cornell won all nine of them.
Men’s soccer drops first Ivy game at Penn: The men’s soccer team continues to struggle, as they lose their first Ivy game to Penn, 2-0. They’re now 1-8-1 on the season.
Women’s soccer draws with Penn: Kelsey Tierney’s excellent season continues with six saves, and the defense continues its impeccable play, but the offense couldn’t get a score as the team drew, 0-0.
Volleyball nearly beats favorite Yale: The defeated Cornell took on the undefeated Yale, and they lost 3-2. Cornell gave the Ivy favorites a run for their money, but couldn’t quite seal the deal.
Mike Graboyes finishes sixth: Graboyes finished sixth at the Macdonald Cup, finishing at four over par on the day.
Sprint football blanked by Army: Cornell was 2-0 on the season and played their first home game of the season, but their season goes to 2-1 as Army defeated them 33-0.
Football loses to Colgate: Football was down 28-7 late in the fourth quarter, and they were able to trim the lead to one score, but could not get it done in the final seconds, and they fell 28-21 to Colgate. They go to 0-3 on the season.
