Men’s basketball: After a dreadful second half where they got outscored 51-29, the Red fell to Canisius College on Saturday, 87-62.
Women’s basketball: They only allowed 20 points in the first half, and that propelled them to a 73-60 victory over Colgate.
Men’s hockey: Mitch Gillam earned a 30-save shutout against #10 Yale to force a 0-0 tie, and then he followed that up with another shutout–this time 1-0–against Brown to earn a three-point weekend. They are currently third in the ECAC with nine points, just a point behind RPI and Quinnipiac.
Women’s hockey: In two non-conference games against Mercyhurst, Cornell dropped the first game 5-1 and won game two 6-1. They’ll play Boston University and Vermont in Vermont next weekend.
Football: Football finishes their season with just that one victory against Columbia, as they lost their last game to one of the Ivy League winners, UPenn, 34-21. Robert Somborn passed for 301 yards, and Chris Fraser averaged 43 yards on four punts.
Wrestling: Unsurprisingly, Cornell wrestling went on to clinch their fourth straight New York State title.
