Big Red Bites – 9/29/15

Volleyball schedule: Volleyball has dropped one in Ivy play, but they’ll look to get a winning record as they’ll take on Brown and Yale on the road this weekend.

Sailing successfully completes third week: The sailing team placed in the top five in their North Fall Qualifier, and had two finishers in the top eight for their Women’s Singles tournament at the Faye Bennet MAISA.

Women’s soccer allows first goal, still wins: It took just over 1,000 minutes, but women’s soccer finally allowed a goal. They still won, though, against Wagner and increased their record to 8-0-2.

Golf takes eighth place: At the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge, Cornell finished eighth of twelve. Junior Luke Graboyes, the Cornell’s best player that day, finished at par (72) and tied for 14th overall.

Women’s tennis wins three awards: Jane Stewart won 2nd singles, Madison Stevens won the B doubles bracket, and Michelle Wang won 3rd singles at the West Point invitational.

Men’s soccer drops seventh game: Men’s soccer’s struggles continued as they dropped their seventh game of nine total games against Buffalo.

Football loses a stunner at Yale: Cornell was not the favorite by any means, but they had defeat snatched from the jaws of victory as a late rally in the fourth quarter gave Yale the victory. Cornell drops to 0-2 on the season.

No broadcasts this week, as both Men’s and Women’s soccer will be on the road to face Penn. Home Ivy play begins next week; schedules to come.
