The BRSN team selects one Cornell athlete each week whose performance stood out among their peers both within the Cornell athletic community and the Ivy League.
RELEASE: ITHACA, NY — Junior Big Red baseball pitcher Tim Willittes has been named the BRSN Athlete of the Week. He tossed eight scoreless innings in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Bucknell to earn a crucial 5-2 victory after Cornell dropped the first contest. Willittes had a very strong outing and demonstrated his control, giving up only three hits and retired a career-high 13 batters for the most strikeouts by a Big Red pitcher in nearly 13 years. This win was one of three for the squad over the weekend, as Cornell faced its first four game series of the year, improving to 6-4 overall on the season.
