BRSN Announces Athlete of the Week: Yianni Diakomihalis

RELEASE: ITHACA, NY — BRSN has named freshman wrestler Yianni Diakomihalis as this week’s Athlete of the Week. On Saturday, Diakomihalis won the national championship for the 141-pound weight class by topping No. 1 seed Bryce Meredith of Wyoming 7-4. With a minute left, Yianni was trailing until he used a four-point cradle in the closing seconds to secure the win. The Big Red now have 20 individual national titles, recording at least one champion in nine of the last 11 seasons.
