As many of you know, Cornell University decided not to renew the contract of men’s basketball coach Bill Courtney. This obviously means the beginning of a new era for Cornell Basketball, and it also means the end of an old one. Here is a compilation of reactions to the dismissal across the Cornell community:

Barry Leonard:

In responding to others who have tweeted I also want to thank coach Bill Courtney for 6 memorable years. A class guy who truly cared! — Barry Leonard (@BarryLeonard3) March 15, 2016

Thomas Fleischman:

@AmyDCronin @Cornell_SID One of the really, really good guys I had the pleasure of working with in my tenure at the IJ. Class act … — Thomas Fleischman (@TomF_Ithaca) March 14, 2016

Cornell SID Jeremy Hartigan:

Nick Karski:

That said, I wish nothing but the best for Bill Courtney. Was always accommodating to us media folks, and VERY well-respected on East Hill. — Nick Karski (@Nick_Karski) March 15, 2016

David Metzendorf:

Coach Courtney is the most genuine, insightful, & intelligent person I’ve been around. He’s been my mentor since I was a 19 year old manager — David Metzendorf (@Coach_Dooz) March 14, 2016

… And like the players he’s coached, he’s helped me grow as a person. Can’t thank him enough for the impact he’s had on my life — David Metzendorf (@Coach_Dooz) March 14, 2016

Jon Jacques:

Would be shocked to find many people, let alone D1 head coaches, who are genuinely better human beings than Bill Courtney… — Jon Jaques (@CoachJonJaques) March 14, 2016

Matt Morgan:
